Why do Process Boards Exist, What are Process Boards, and More!

Why do Process Boards exist?

What are Process Boards?

Process Boards are a sales and management tool that helps teams operationalize their revenue methodology by tracking adherence to sales processes, managing violations, and guiding corrective actions. It provides visibility into whether team members are following processes and enables quick remediation—all within or alongside the CRM.

Learning to use your CRM properly is important, and process boards will help reps do that. Other tools fix issues AFTER the fact through the zero board, and they don't teach the rep how to actually prevent the problem in the first place. By making the rep fix the issue in the CRM, they learn how to do it, and develop the habit of doing it every time.

General Use Cases & Benefits

  • manage and track violations and expectations that managers have set for a sales team and account managers

  • build and operationalize a revenue methodology in your CRM

  • view process violations and take actions on them outside of Supered

  • view a list of things that you should be doing based on your sales methodology

Role Specific Use Cases & Benefits

  • Admin - I have a framework (prioritize activities, diagnose problems, direct action) and I want to operationalize it. I want the data in my CRM to be clean and pristine.

  • Individual Rep - I'm able to know what I'm supposed to do right now.

  • Manager - I'm able to see if my reps are following the process. I can see who / where is the process not being followed or breaking and determine why the process is not being followed.

  • Director - I'm able to see if the process that I've set for the sales team is working or not. I can't know if the process is working, if no one follows the process.

How do you create a Process Board?

⚡️Supered Insight: Before setting up a Process Board, you want to be sure you have the desired Process Rules set-up.

  1. Go to the "Process Boards" Dashboard.

  2. Click "Create".

  3. Create a "Title" for your Process Board that is clear to it's purpose (i.e. Deal Management or Sales Pipeline).

    • This will determine what data is available and which process rules can be included.

    • The CRM Provider and Record Type CANNOT be changed later.

    • There are currently no limits to how many "Conditions" you can have.

    • If you accidentally add a condition and need to remove it, simply click "Delete" next to the condition.

    • The conditions can be a mix of rules and tags.

Will Process Boards also highlight success rules?

The functionality of the process board is to show violations. Ultimately a board that shows positive things is not the most useful in what to do next and how to be successful. Reps will want to get to zero violations to confirm that they've followed the process correctly.

Will Process Boards work on custom objects?

Yes - You can use them as primary for custom objects and you can use them as associated/cross object validations.

Do Process Boards support the object library?

No - At this time, we do not support this. This is on the short-term roadmap to address though. The intention is to support as many objects as possible.

Can I lock down permission sets so only certain people can create or edit Process Boards?

Yes - Access this in Settings and Permission Sets.

Is there a limit to how many process rules or tags are used in a board?

No - There can be several rules and tags within a board and there is no limit.

Can a Process Rule only appear in one board at a time?

No - It can appear in several boards and there is no limit.
